What our Clients say . . .

Testimonials are not the same as references. If you require references, let us know.

We enjoy our customers' responses to our work. (We've only had an unhappy customer one time.) So here are a few testimonials, along with a little commentary to illustrate how we provide such great service.

"I want you to know that I am totally impressed with the Memo/Proposal. ... that you wrote it as if you knew me... I think that it is great that you can do this. I have already told my friends about you... and recommending your service.

There are no further changes... I will keep it as is. I will definitely use your service again.

Once again, thank you so much for the time you have put into this. I would have never thought of expressing it the way you have. It is a very effective memo. I'm very grateful."

People are naturally concerned that they might have to rewrite our work, because after all, we can't possibly be as familiar with their situation as they are. But they are surprised at how we interpret, research, and envision their situation, and even mimic their own writing style.

"Now every time I need a proposal I just call you up, and then I don't worry about it. Your prices are reasonable, and the work is professional."
- GT Starkey III, Quik Turn Inc.
We do a lot of work for GT. He finds we can do the work quickly and professionally while he is busy running the business!

"Wow! I like it a lot. Definite bulls eye, I am glad I let you do this instead of trying to do it myself. I will be keeping you in the address book for the future."
- D.S.
We rewrote his one- page proposal to a university president. We turned it into a dignified but attention-grabbing cover letter and a very clear four-page proposal. This was an example of where we were able to significantly add to the content, through careful analysis, research, and email correspondence with the customer. In addition, through careful organization of the ideas we were able to make it far more persuasive. (I should add, that we know from personal experience, how a university president’s office would perceive a proposal.)

"I am really impressed with your services. Especially, the constant contact.
I will surely recommend your services to my friends.

Thanks again for your help!"
- Gray
We rewrote her 4 page professional career history, part of her application for university credits (in lieu of taking some courses). At first glance, her work looked good, but on closer inspection it did not do her justice. We completely restructured the ideas, so that the types of work experience were grouped together. We also made it more concise and focused. She points out in the testimonial that we stay in touch; it is our policy to work with you and let you know of the progress.

After we sent a draft copy, this next lady stated:
"WOW! It looks marvelous! It would have taken me multiple, full days to come up with something like that!"
. . . And later:
"The proposal turned out GREAT!!! I gained some respect from my co-workers, which made me feel so proud, even though I didn't do it! Thank you so much for saving the day!"
This was quite a long proposal, based on an old memo and some added points. We were able to fill in the information gaps. (We actually enjoy this sleuthing.) She desperately needed to make some “points” at the office. We're glad we could help. We believe she does deserve the credit; being resourceful is what she is hired to do!

"GREAT JOB....YOUR THE MAN!

Interested in a larger job."
- Russell
This was his response to our work on a difficult one-page letter that proposed new payment terms for a major customer. Russell’s office had puzzled over how to make the benefits of that proposal not look lopsided (in their favor). We often rewrite these sensitive letters; we have the benefit of being able to”get outside the writer’s frame of mine”. The solution lay in careful use of language and organization of ideas.

This next proposal was a major undertaking, requiring considerable consultation and several drafts.
"We had written a long letter to various foundations, seeking funds for our new school building. Usually we didn't even get a response. The staff at effectivewriter.com turned our rambling letter and backup material into a professional looking six page proposal that really caught the attention of the funding agencies.

I think the big change was how they made it into a really tight but loaded format that made it easy to read and get the complete message. The foundation that we were keen on told us that it was 'informative and concise'. I can see now, that's the hardest thing to achieve.

I was surprised at what makes a well designed and effective proposal. Thanks Launie."
